Situated on the edge of a lovely, restored hamlet near several well-known medieval villages perched on hilltops (Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux, for example), ‘Lagniappe’ has a large, private garden overlooking trees, a small creek, mountains, and orchards. Walking, hiking and cycling are ideal in this picturesque countryside and beautiful Lubéron sunshine; rosemary and thyme grow wild in the woods that one smells on walks to the ochre cliffs of Roussillon.

Nearby are excellent restaurants offering the special ambience and cuisine of rural Provence.It is a wonderful area to explore, with its many beautiful villages, each with its own market day. The papal city of Avignon is famous for its truffle market, excellent shops, and long summer festivals with music, dance, theatre. Avignon 's cultural activities continue throughout the winter. All the local villages have fetes during the long hot summer months. For antique lovers, the world famous market in the beautiful village of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue has the largest antique market outside of Paris on Sundays. The vivid ocre cliffs of Roussillon are within walking distance and the tranquil Cistercian abbey of Sénanque is close by.

Day trips: Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, the spectacular Gorges du Verdon, Mont Ventoux, and the Roman towns of Arles, Nîmes, Orange, Vaison-la-Romaine are all within an hour or two's drive, while Marseille, the Camargue, with its wonderful wild life, flamingos, bulls, and wild horses, and the Mediterranean coast are within easy reach.
