Situated on the edge of a lovely, restored hamlet near several well-known medieval villages
perched on hilltops (Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux, for example), ‘Lagniappe’ has
a large, private garden overlooking trees, a small creek, mountains, and
orchards. Walking, hiking and cycling are ideal in this picturesque countryside
and beautiful Lubéron sunshine; rosemary and thyme grow wild in the woods that
one smells on walks to the ochre cliffs of Roussillon.
Nearby are excellent restaurants offering the special ambience and cuisine of rural Provence. It is a wonderful area to explore, with its many
beautiful villages, each with its own market day. The papal city of Avignon is famous for its truffle market, excellent shops, and
long summer festivals with music, dance, theatre. Avignon 's cultural activities continue throughout the winter. All the local villages have fetes
during the long hot summer months.
For antique lovers, the world famous market in the beautiful village of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue has the largest antique market outside of Paris on Sundays.
